Do you want everything God has for you? Then you need a vision!
Vision is the key to everything there is in God. It is the key to seeing all your dreams and prophecies come to pass. The prophet Habakkuk reminds us to:
“Write the vision down, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come and it will not tarry” (Habakkuk 2:1-2).
Vision is important! It will do huge things for you.
Here are three reasons you MUST have a vision:
1. Vision propels you into your future.
When you use your faith and combine vision with the Word, it will really surprise you how God will propel you into your future like a rocket. Vision is the key to everything.
My husband released a prophetic word recently about the “catapult”–how God is going to catapult you forward. But you know what God needs in order to catapult you? He needs you to have a vision. Notice in Habakkuk that the “running” doesn’t start until after the “reading.” You have to have a vision in order to receive the future God has for you!
2. Vision keeps you going when you want to stop.
If you do what the prophet Habakkuk prescribed and “write the vision down,” it will be so exciting to see God begin to move line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. Little by little He will move, but you WILL see Him do it!
While you wait, your vision will give you hope. It will help you keep moving in faith, believing God no matter what it looks like or feels like. Many times in going after my purpose I had to keep the faith like that! I couldn’t look at things in the natural. I only saw in the supernatural, and that supernatural vision of God’s plan for my life kept me going.
When there were no calls for bookings–or when we were barely getting by–I kept my eyes on the vision of going to the nations until I was experiencing it first-hand. PRAISE GOD HE ANSWERS PRAYERS! And what He has done for me, He will do for you too! Won’t He do it? Oh yes, He will!
3. Vision keeps you disciplined.
My vision keeps me disciplined and focused, and yours will keep you disciplined and focused too. David said in Psalm 27:13-14:
“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (Psalm 27:13-14).
There is really no other discipline like waiting–especially waiting on the Lord. Because His timing is not our timing and our timing is not His timing, waiting can be hard. But, if you will make up your mind and stay in faith–waiting on God in faith and expectation–you will see your vision come into sight.
My friend, keep the vision you received from God ever before you! Watch and wait!
Stay rooted and grounded in God. If you will, your vision will surely come to pass; it will not delay!
Do you need a vision? If so, get alone with God TODAY and ask Him to show you His vision for your life! When He does, receive it–even if it seems impossible! Nothing is too hard for God.

I have a vision of not only working in the film and entertainment industry but dominating in it. I have had this dream for over 10 years of being a screenwriter/film director and having a massive entertainment empire that will live long after me and be a legacy for my family. I’m scared because my ideas are different but I know God gave me the vision so I keep praying and staying faithful that it will come to pass.
Absolutely go for it, Sherry! We need more Christians in the arts and entertainment world!
For lack of a better response… “you were reading my mail” with this post today!!! Thank you so much for your obedience to share The Word of The Lord with us…..
Prophtess Judy I believe God gave me a vision. In my culture (African American) we are real big about our hair, and we will pay(not me) whatever to get it and get it done. God gave me a vision of selling it, becoming my own boss, even tho He blessed me with a good job I’ve been at almost 8 years. My cousin sells it and everytime I saw her on Facebook talking about it something would nudge me…at first I thought nothing of it, then I saw her again and that’s when I heard it….the problem is….I have no funds of getting started…so I praying about what I heard and if I heard right.
Judy Jacobs,
May I email you about my vision? I have only talked to a few other people about my vision and what I believe God is calling me to do. It’s huge, much bigger than me, and I know with God all things are possible and NOTHING is too big for God!
Yes, you may!
