Did you know that Jesus’ blood can work for you every day? Today, I want to show you how to apply this precious blood.
Jesus’ blood, which was spilled at the cross, can be applied in our daily lives.
In eternity past, God the Father preordained the Son to die in order to redeem what Adam forfeited. Jesus was the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. The ransom payment was the shed blood of Jesus. Nothing else, and no one else, could pay the ultimate price for mankind except God in the flesh.
The blood of Jesus accomplishes three things:
- it saves;
- it cleanses; and
- it empowers.
We are all familiar with John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
And Ephesians 1:7-10 says:
In Him “we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth – in Him” (Ephesians 1:7-10).
Thus, Christ shed His blood to save us.
The Apostle Paul further agrees, saying:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Jesus attests to this also by saying:
“For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them” (Luke 9:56).
All roads do not lead to heaven, as our modern society would have you believe.
The Bible says:
“There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
The only way to be saved is by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. The price has been paid by His blood, which provides our atonement – once and for all.
Likewise, Jesus’ blood cleanses.
The letter to the Hebrew Christians is chock-full of statements concerning our cleansing through His blood. It says that Jesus purged our sin, then sat down next to the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3).
The Bible says:
“According to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood, there is no remission. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins … but this Man … by one offering … has perfected forever those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 9:22, 10:4, 12, 14).
The Apostle John states:
“The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:7, 9).
As you have heard me say … ALL AND ALL MEANS ALL! To what degree? WHITER THAN SNOW!
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow” (Psalm 51:7).
And Isaiah quotes the Lord saying:
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (1:18).
Friends, that is the power of the blood of Jesus to cleanse us.
Not only are we cleansed through Jesus’ blood, but His blood also empowers us.
The author of Hebrews states that:
“without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God” (Hebrew 11:6 TPT).
In the TPT footnote it says:
“we would be powerless to please God.”
The Greek word adynatos means impotent or powerless. Previous chapters in Hebrews deal with Christ’s sacrifice and how it is superior to the animal sacrifices of bull and birds in the Old Testament. But because of the blood of Jesus, we can have access to God’s presence unlike those of the old covenant.
Jesus has given us a:
“new life-giving way” to enter the most holy sanctuary in heaven itself by the blood of Jesus. (Hebrew 10:20)
With that in context, the writer goes into the famous Chapter 11 “hall of faith.”
Remember too, that faith is a gift of God.
So, let me put this into perspective. How many of you have ever sat on your foot or leg and cut off the blood supply, then experienced “pin and needles” in that area? It makes that area impotent or powerless. But, once you’ve stood up or uncrossed your legs, blood rushes back and within minutes your foot or leg is revitalized.
Get the picture? When you are born again, you are given a measure of faith through the blood of Jesus. His blood rushes to that impotent and powerless area in your life to give it power and give it life. His blood gives life and potency to faith. No more pins and needles, no more impotency, no more powerlessness.
In science we learn that fresh, oxygenated blood pumped from the heart goes to all the different systems. That blood gives them life and picks up carbon dioxide, to be taken to the lungs for the divine exchange for oxygen. Isn’t that just like our Creator – giving us His blood as a transport to impart life in exchange for death?
So, give Him your bodies, your thoughts, your attitudes, and even your moods to be enlivened by His fresh blood today.
Romans 12:1 says to offer God your bodies as a sacrifice. Verse 2 in the Phillips translation says don’t let the world around you “squeeze” you into its own mold.
So, uncross those legs, stand up and move in faith — life-giving blood will return to you and make you potent and powerful.
What areas of your life need revitalization by His blood?
Even in heaven, Jesus’ blood prevails. In Revelation chapter 12, John pens that war broke out in heaven between Michael and his angels and Satan (the dragon) and his angels. But Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven. John hears this from heaven:
“Now salvation, and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (verses 10 & 11).
PRAISE THE LIVING GOD!!! We too can overcome by the power of His blood and the word of our testimony.
As Andre Crouch sings, “The blood will never lose its power!”
