Coming into a brand-new year is filled with so much anticipation, excitement, and contemplation, such as “I wonder what is waiting on the other side?”
I can flat out tell you, that it is all of the above!
It is the excitement of having a brand-new slate, the do-over, the start-over, a fresh beginning, and a determination to make this coming year better than the last.
Then there is the wondering, would I even dare to go as far as to say, fretting about what is ahead? Yes, of course!
But Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit plainly told us in Philippians 4:6,
“Do not fret, it only brings trouble and anxiety."
Notice it wasn’t a suggestion, or an “if I were you.” Paul clearly said, don’t do it!
Here’s the reason why: God has not changed His mind about you or your situation.
One thing that soothes my heart, my mind, and my spirit is to realize sometimes when I wake up to something that is not pleasant or which is troubling in my life, I remind myself that whatever this is, it had to go through God first before it came to me.
God is not bothered, upset, walking the floor, wringing His hands, and saying, “Oh no, I wonder how that happened?”
NO! He is still the same Father as he always has been.
His Word says:
"I will never leave you or forsake you…I will go with you always even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)
"So, we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear." (Hebrews 13:6)
"What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
"For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you." (Isaiah 41:13)
On and on we could go,
but God wants you to know He has not changed His mind, He is still, EMMANUEL, GOD WITH US!
With the Red Sea in front of them and Pharoah’s army behind them, the children of Israel had one choice MOVE FORWARD AND MARCH!
And today, that’s what you must do, wherever you find yourself today, in whatever circumstance, just start MOVING! When you move the Lord will go before you, behind you, beside you, on top of you and underneath you.
Psalm 37:4 says, “The Angel of the lord encamps around those who love Him and fear Him.”
I want to encourage you today, THIS DAY, stay on the path!
The path of prayer, worship, reading and meditating on His Word, and most of all BELIEVING!
Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a human being that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
The answer to that is, OF COURSE NOT!
He still has a plan!
He still has a purpose!
He is still coming through for you; you just keep walking.
I see water ahead.
I see provision ahead.
